What Shelfey Is

Shelfey is a personal AI coaching service delivered via SMS and Telegram. We use the books and topics you share to generate personalized coaching messages. Shelfey is operated by Generation AI LLC (DBA It's Jen AI).

Information We Collect

  • Phone number or Telegram ID— used to identify your account and deliver messages.
  • Message content— the texts you send us (book titles, responses, conversations) are stored to maintain your coaching history.
  • Book data— titles and authors you add to your shelf, along with AI-generated book profiles.
  • Payment information— processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.

How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver personalized coaching messages based on your books.
  • To maintain your shelf and conversation history.
  • To process subscription payments.
  • To improve the quality of coaching (we may use anonymized, aggregated data).

AI Processing

Shelfey uses Claude (by Anthropic) to analyze books and generate coaching messages. Your conversation data is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models.

Third-Party Services

  • Twilio— SMS delivery.
  • Telegram— messaging platform.
  • Stripe— payment processing.
  • Supabase— database hosting.
  • Anthropic (Claude)— AI processing.
  • Vercel— application hosting.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you unsubscribe (text STOP), we retain your data for 30 days in case you return, then delete it. You can request immediate deletion by emailing us.

Your Rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of your data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Opt out of SMS at any time by texting STOP.

SMS-Specific Disclosures

  • Message frequency varies based on your coaching preferences.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Text STOP to cancel. Text HELP for help.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Children's Privacy

Shelfey is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
